New Soul Republic (NSR) is a creative collective and cultural project rooted in music, community, and futurist Black expression. Founded by Lennon English, NSR exists to cultivate soulful, intentional art that bridges jazz, soul, hip-hop, Afrobeat, and global Black musical traditions — while creating space for collaboration, healing, and shared growth.
NSR is not a label in the traditional sense.
It is a republic — a gathering of artists, musicians, thinkers, and builders aligned around sound, story, and service.
Through live performances, recordings, workshops, and community-driven initiatives, NSR explores how music can function not only as entertainment, but as infrastructure: a way to connect people, transmit values, and imagine new futures.
NSR projects range from intimate live sessions to large-scale collaborative works, often emphasizing:
- Live musicianship
- Improvisation and groove
- Cultural memory and futurism
- Community presence over industry extraction
As NSR continues to evolve, it will serve as a home for artists and projects that share a commitment to integrity, experimentation, and soul-centered creation.
