Every day I wake up and begin my morning routine. Part of that routine is writing music. There are times when an old song I wrote get stuck in my head and I take it out and free write it. Today I’m doing a re-write for The Way You Make Me Feel. It was originally an improvisation. My friend Tyrone would host these dope jam sessions at Topaz Lounge in DC. One night the extremely talented Gary Groove started moving on this smooth ass baseline and I was really feeling it so I freestyled the song lyrics and melody right there on the spot… One take, live, and a song was born.
